NFL star Demario Davis shared a powerful testimony about his faith in God after his daughter survived a severe seizure, offering words of encouragement to fans going through difficult times to “place their trust in the Lord.”
The New Orleans Saints linebacker delivered a brief sermon during a press conference, emphasizing the significance of a relationship with Jesus Christ to fans and the media.
“We participate in this game on Sundays, which is truly the Lord’s day. On a day meant for worshipping the Lord, often players are the ones being worshipped… Since many of us couldn’t attend church today, I have a message I’d like to share.”
Following the Saints’ victory over the Tennessee Titans in the first week of the 2023 NFL season, Davis chose to read Revelation 3:20 during the post-game press conference.
The verse states, “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with me” (CSB).
Davis then proceeded to share a personal experience from the past week, saying, “I want to tell you about a knock I heard this week.”
