Shot Over Diapers? A CHILD’S LIFE MATTERS. JUSTICE MUST NOT BE SILENCED.
A Mississippi police officer who fatally shot one-year-old Kohen Wiley has resigned. According to the the Senatobia Police Department.
The shooting occurred on June 14, 2026, in a Walmart parking lot, over stolen diapers. The case has reignited debates about police accountability.
The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office concluded that the officer’s use of force was justified. But Kohen’s family disputes that finding and is seeking a federal investigation. Source: Associated Press
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT INJUSTICE?
God’s Word is crystal clear that justice is something we can’t just skip. In this particular case, the child’s name is “Kohen” which in the hebrew means “priest”. So this trigger happy cop shot a “priest” who is now with the Lord. Because all children of young age go to heaven.
In the Bible, God tells His people to stand up for those who can’t defend themselves. Be a voice for those who can’t speak. Don’t just stand by when you see injustice happening.
Scriptures About Speaking Up For The Vulnerable:
- Isaiah 1:17 (WMB) Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the fatherless. Plead for the widow.
- Matthew 25:40 (WMB) reminds us that what we do for the least of our brothers and sisters, we do for Christ Himself.
- Proverbs 31:8–9 (WMB) calls us to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves and to defend the rights of the poor and needy.
- Zechariah 7:9–10 (WMB) commands God’s people to administer true justice, show compassion, and refrain from oppressing the vulnerable.
These Scriptures challenge every Christian to ask an uncomfortable question: Are we truly defending the innocent and standing for justice, or are we remaining silent when the vulnerable suffer?
THE LEAST OF THESE MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN
One-year-old Kohen couldn’t speak, defend himself, or explain his surroundings. His life matters, and his family deserves compassion, truth, and accountability.
Seeking justice doesn’t mean abandoning fairness or assuming facts. It means demanding honest evidence examination, fair application of the law, and the value of human life.
As Christians, we must pray for Kohen’s family. We must also stand against injustice wherever it occurs. And remember that God sees the suffering of the vulnerable.
Justice is not merely a political slogan. It is a biblical responsibility.
May we never become so comfortable with injustice that we stop mourning, stop asking questions, or stop speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Lord Yeshua, bring comfort to Kohen’s family, expose the truth, and lead those responsible for justice to act with integrity, wisdom, and courage. Amen.
