Where’s The Rapture Found in the Bible?
The concept of the Rapture is one of the most discussed topics in modern eschatology. In a recent teaching, Deborah Pearson broke down the biblical evidence.
While the word “rapture” doesn’t appear in every translation, the concept is vividly described across the New Testament.

Which verses describe the Rapture?
The most explicit description of the Rapture is found in the writings of Sha’ul (Paul). Pearson highlights the dramatic sequence of events that will signal the gathering of the saints. It is not a quiet or hidden affair; it is marked by the command of the Lord and the cosmic sound of the shofar.
“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a rousing cry,
with a call from one of the ruling angels and with God’s shofar;
and those who died united with the Messiah will be the first to rise;
then we who are left still alive will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air;
and thus we will always be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 CJB)
Is the Rapture Imminent?
The teaching also points to the words of Yeshua in the Gospel of Matthew. Here, the focus is on the suddenness and the selective nature of the event. Deborah notes that the Rapture will occur during the course of normal daily life. This serves as a powerful reminder to remain spiritually vigilant.
“Then there will be two men in the field—one will be taken and one left behind. There will be two women grinding flour at the mill—one will be taken and one left behind.” (Matthew 24:40–41 CJB)

Finally, Pearson connects these descriptions to the prophetic experience of Yochanan (John) in the book of Revelation. The command to “Come up here” is viewed by scholars as a prophetic illustration of the Church’s call to meet the Lord.
“After these things I looked, and there before me was an opened door in heaven;
and the first voice, the one I had heard speaking to me like a shofar, said,
‘Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after these things.’” (Revelation 4:1 CJB)
