CHICAGO, IL – February 15, 2026 – Today marks a powerful testament to faith, resilience, and community as Renewal Life Church officially opens the doors to its new home in Chicago’s vibrant South Shore neighborhood. This grand reopening comes just months after a devastating fire on Thanksgiving Day last year completely destroyed their previous sanctuary.
For the congregation and leadership led by Apostle Je’Rico J. Brown, today isn’t just a new location; it’s a profound declaration that even in the face of loss, hope and purpose endure.
Renewal Life Church: A Community Forged in Fire
The journey to South Shore began on November 27, 2025, when a tragic blaze ravaged the Renewal Life Church’s beloved home at 5848 S. Emerald Ave. The fire left nothing but memories and ashes, forcing the church family to rebuild “from scratch.” Yet, through it all, their spirit remained unbroken. As the church shared in a recent release, “After the fire, we still stand — stronger, united, and moving forward in faith.”
This unwavering resolve has led them to their beautiful new sanctuary, nestled on the third floor of 7411 S. Stony Island Ave. This move signifies not just a change of address, but a powerful new chapter for a church deeply committed to its community.

A Message of Renewal
The story of Renewal Life Church echoes the powerful words of Yesha‘yahu (Isaiah) 61:1, 3 from the Complete Jewish Bible:
“The Spirit of Adonai Elohim is upon me, because Adonai has anointed me to announce good news to the poor… to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, a cloak of praise instead of a heavy spirit…”
