The creation of the true biblical calendar occurred thousands of years ago through God Himself.
Initially, God instructed humanity to observe the sun and moon for signs, seasons, and days (Genesis 1:14). When God redeemed His people from Egyptian captivity, He firmly commanded them to reset their calendar:
“This month will be the beginning of months for you. It will be the first month of the year to you. …for it was in the month of Aviv (or Nisan) that you came out from Egypt.”

The Roman Gregorian system pushed the New Year into the dead of winter. In contrast, the Lord’s New Year arrives in the spring, around late March to April 1st.

Help me to remember Your divine calendar and the true deliverance of Your people during the Exodus. Thank You, Lord, for breaking every chain and delivering me from the Pharaohs of this world.
